Chester Senior Cup Final - Winners
In a repeat of last years final when Nomads were worthy winners it was Upton who tried to play the football and were well on top of the game until their inspirational captain Andy Lloyd was sent off for bringing down a Nomads player on the edge of the box. This changed the game and it became a scrappy long ball game. Only Upton tried to play any football but at both half and full time the score remained 0 - 0. Extra time was no different but as Upton tired it always looked that Nomads could snatch a victory. 10 man Upton held out and took the game to penalties. With the score at 3 - 3 Nomads took their 5th penalty to win the game but unfortunately player/manager John Cadwallader hit the post, a costly miss as Upton scored the next two penalties whilst Nomads missed again, Upton had their revenge on last season by winning 5 - 4 on penalties to once again become the top team in Chester.
