A memorial to Barry Gaulton

|
Barry joined Upton
AAFC in 1973 as Secretary plus (dogsbody!!).
He was presented by the Cheshire FA and by the Chester & District FA with services to football awards in 2004.
After nearly 30 years
as Secretary Barry entered semi retirement as
Chairman in 2010.
It was with deep sadness that we learnt of Barry's sudden death whilst he was on holiday in Tenerife on October of that year. In recognition of his services to the club from 1972 to 2010 the stand, following renovation, was reopened on 30 July 2011and named "The Barry Gaulton Stand". The naming ceremony was followed by a friendly game against, on the first occasion, local rivals Chester Nomads for the Barry Gaulton Cup. This is now an annual event to be played by Upton AAFC against a local team.
